CAPTION: Shaw_AFB---Class 61-4:
"I went thru the RF-101 Voodoo check out with Dick [Richarg W. Musgrove] at Shaw in summer of 1961---and give you a photo of the Class. It was the Class 61-4 and started on 12 June and finished on 1 Sept 1961. Two of us went to PACAF, Norm Huggins (45 TRS-Missawa) and myself to Okinawa. I think all the others went to USAFE except for John Turner. John was the RAF enchange officer and was there to replace Nigel Walpol.

We were all strangers at Shaw except for Norm and myself. We both had been F-86D instructors at Moody.
We all got to know and like each other while learning to fly the "longbird" and had a great 3 months at Shaw. Strange that both Norm and I were shot down in SEA but we both were lucky enough to survive." -- Burt Waltz
